Updated: U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona visits campus

U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona visited the Hudson Valley Community College campus on June 27 as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Invest in America tour which focuses on career and technical education. Cardona took office on March 2, 2021 as the 12th U.S. Secretary of Education.

Joined by U.S. Representative Paul Tonko, SUNY Chancellor John King, Jr., Roberta Reardon, NYS Commissioner of Labor and President Roger Ramsammy, Cardona toured the Lang Hall Welding Lab, STEM High School, as well as several labs in Gene F. Haas Center for Advanced Manufacturing Skills.

Cardona led a roundtable discussion with workforce partners, during which he and the college’s education and industry partners praised the HVCC’s new initiatives for workforce training.
